Mandatory training is compulsory training that is determined essential by the Trust for the safe and efficient delivery of services.
This type of training is designed to reduce organisational risks and comply with local or national policies and government guidelines. We have now aligned our mandatory training to the Core Skills Training Framework (CSTF). This means our training is aligned to a recognised standard and that we can recognise training that staff receive in other organisations in compliance with the Statutory/Mandatory. This helps to prevent unnecessary duplication of training as staff move between roles and organisations.
Mandatory training includes:
- Conflict resolution
- Equality & Diversity
- Fire Safety
- Harassment & Bullying awareness
- Health & Safety
- Infection Control
- Information Governance
- Moving & Handling
- Safe administration of medicines
- Safeguarding Children & Adults
Attending mandatory training
We believe mandatory training should be undertaken during work time. You may be required to attend training or updates when off duty – you should, however, be given the equivalent time off to compensate. If you work regular night shifts your employer should take this into account to ensure you can attend any regular training updates.
The training reception team are available for support with ESR, booking courses and any problems you may have with mandatory training or eLearning in the first instance. They can be contacted by email: firstname.lastname@example.org
Analytical information relating to mandatory training is run on a monthly basis and shared through the Divisions. If you would like access to these reports please contact: Nicola.Chapman@bthft.nhs.uk or Endaf.Williams2@bthft.nhs.uk
